It has been so long I forgot how to get to my blog... now thats just sad! So I went out on Saturday to try my hand at 4 by 5 for the first time. First effort was pretty much an epic fail... even with Allison's help but it was still a party. So once I fixed my focusing issue on Saturday I went out again Sunday. Then I thought everything went perfect... but alas no such luck. Darn you ISO!!! But now I know the answers to two possible problems. I am sure the next time I go I will have another problem. But the more problems I have the more problems I solve. So yea even though I didn't end up with any useful images I learned lots. And I love my pretty red 4 by 5 camera. We are now friends once we had a talk. Yea it is fun learning brand new stuff... and frustrating, but fun all the same! I feel like I am learning parts of photo all over again when I use a brand new camera... but I also feel like I am learning parts much better. Ok well we will see how shooting Saturday goes. The End!

Final Project!
For my final project I took pictures of places I love. Well that is what my project started out as anyway. I had some trouble in the beginning because my pictures weren't very good. They were blah blah blah. I finally figured out a good way to carry out my project. I went rock climbing with the school and I took panos of where we were. I took pictures of where we were going to climb, like the wall and such. Those were my 4 panos. Then I took specific pictures of the rock or area around it. It turned out really cool. I really love all my final 8 pictures for this assignment. The crack one and the rope and my favorite single shots. The first pano with the snow is my favorite. The last 4 pictures that I didn't print wern't my favorite. They just were not as good images as my others.
Big Pano
Every Thursday I get on a bus and go up into the Wasatch. In the Winter and early Spring we go back country skiing. Many people do not understand the reason for back country skiing. It is a lot of hard work for great snow sometimes and crappy snow other times. People often ask my why in the world I would choose to do that to my self. With this picture I am trying to show why it is I love it so much. It is not just the backcountry skiing it is also the people I am with. This picture shows our group simply having fun together. Everyone was laughing and having a grat time outside in the snow. This is what I love so much about the outdoors. I love the fun I can have while working hard and learning skills. That is why I think this picture ended up so good; it shows what I really think about this activity.
The light really coorporated with me with this image. It was covered up with clouds because a storm was hitting the valley. That really helped this image because I wasn't shooting into the sun which could have been a BIG problem. This picture also concreted my love for Panoramas. It showed me how much fun panos could be to take.

Ansel Adams Photography
These are some of Ansel Adam's photographs from Yosemite Valley. These are of great interest to me because I am trying to take intersting landscapes. I have had a hard time making them look like I want them to. The image never turns out exactly right. One of the cool things with Ansel Adams is what he does with shadow. And the moon in this first one is awesome. The tree leaning to the side is really cool too. The shadows from the branches are awesome. I love Ansel Adam's images. They really make me feel like I was there.
