So here is the scoop on my final project!
As you can all tell, unless you are really oblivious all my prints are of hands. I tried to do a huge variety of hands. I did men's hands and female's hands. I did little kids and older kids. I tried to take pictures of people in all sort of different actions. I shot 5 different times. I think that really helped me because I kept getting different kind of pictures. You can tell what I learned as the longer I shot. I had some problems with my white balance in the beginning. My pictures were easier to print as I got my white balance better. I learned alot about what to look for in an image for htis project. I learned not to back light... I really really learned that one! I promise Mr. Slade!! Light is important! I have slowly learned how to use it to my advantage this term. I am getting there! There are things I would have changed in some of these prints, but I feel much better about these then I felt on any prints last year!
Other Final Prints
This is my little cousin. She plays three different instruments, including the piano. She practices all of the time. I love that her hand is in mition. It shows the idea of the image really well.
This is a worker at one of my neighbors houses. He has a sist on his hand. It is causing him a lot of pain and it has become really hard for him to work. But he has to, because he has to pay his bills. I wanted to capture his pain in this picture. The background threw this picture off, but I am learning!

These are my neighbors hands. She is over 90 years old. I love her hands, I think they really tell a story. She fell and broke her hip a couple weeks ago. When that happened her arm was all black and blue. It is already back to normal color. Unfortunately I back lighted every image I took of her, so that really messed me up. But I really want to go back and take more pictures of her hands. This was a good beginning, but I could have gone a lot deeper.
Other Final Prints
This is Emily... Emily I love your nail polish!!! I think it adds a lot to my images!!
This is another one of my cousin. Again he looks like he has working hands. He does a lot of work outside, so it matches. I really like that he is on top of a shovel.
Final Prints! (These are the ones I printed!)

This is a stack of my friends hands. I really like it because it shows how different we all really are. Everyone's hands are very different, even though they are all similar. It is so easy to tell the difference of hands.

These hands are my mom's and her two sisters. I really like this idea. They are all similar yet different. There hands have alot of similarities but are still different.

I love love this print. I love the motion. It is cool that you can see through the hands in sectoins. Plus my white balance is white on.. which made it that much better!!

These are more hands of my mom and her sisters. I think this is another really cool idea. I love how they make a circle. This was a very hard image to print. My white balance was slightly off, so it made it really difficult. But I ended up really happy with this print!
These hands look like work hands, which is good because this is my cousin who works outside all the time. I think it shows his character really well.
I think this is a really funny image. I love the motion of the top hand.

Assignment 7- One shot!
So I thought about this picture a while. I had one shot, and I didn't want to throw it away. I decided to take a picture of a old stump in my yard. I know, that sounds like a snooze fest. But here is the thing, the stump has a story. In one of the big storms we had recently one of the big branches got ripped off. We have to cut the rest of the tree down, because it is dying. I wanted this picture to symboiloze how everything has to die and move on... I am not sure I got there though.
ReTake Portriats!!
So one thing I did last week was to reshoot my portriat assignment. I took them early last week, but with me being sick and all I never uploaded them. I really like how these turned out much better. I liked the idea of hanging upside down, so I used that and went with it. I feel like these are much better, because I had an idea in mind. I knew what I wanted, which helped a lot! Last time I did not really know what I wanted to take pictures of. For my self portriats I used a mask. Katie, I promise I had already decided to do this before I saw your pictures. The cool thing about my mask is that I made it. So it was me being not me, but me being someone I created.. I thought it was pretty cool. My favorite is Natalie hanging upside down with her tongue out. My least favorite is the one of her on the slide. So yea... here you go!
Weekend!!
Ok so I hope you all appreciate what I did this weekend. I shot and shot and shot some more! So I have a lot of things to post for all of you to admire. I just thought I would give you a heads up!
