Hands

Here a couple pictures of hands. I don't want to do ones just like this. Put thats the idea...

Final Project

So I have changed my mind like a zillion times, but I think I have finally setteled on a good idea. I am going to photograph people's hands. I am going to show people's hands and their different characters. It should be pretty cool...!

Assignment 6- Portriats

So I had majoir problems with this assignment. I took a lot of pictures this weekend while my family was carving pumpkins. I got some good pictures, but the problem was that I was taking pictures of the activity, not of the person. I tried to take some more pictures last night, and I did better. I was at least taking portriats. I am still not happy with my pictures. I feel like I can do much better, I just didn't have enough time to make it as good as I can. I need to have a couple more models. I also need to come up with a good self portriat idea. I will work on this more this weekend and come up with some stellar ones for next week!

More Abstract

I love how abstract pictures confuse your mind. You are no longer sure what you are looking at. To me this shows a good picture. When you aren't sure what you are looking at it means it is really abstract. These all blend together. It is fun when a picture messes with your mind.

ABSTRACT!

So I enjoy abstract art. It is really cool. I have a lot of fun looking for the image in the picture. These are really cool, because of the way the color is used.

STRESSSING!

So this year has been awful school wise. I am not a big fan of Junior year. These 5 hour nights for entire weeks just isn't good for me. I need sleep.... so no sleep just doesn't go well. I try to be so productive on my weekends, but it just doesn't work out so well. Stress just drives me crazy... I can't handle it. To many things to do, not enough time! Everytime I feel like I am catching up, I get a ton more work. So I thought I would just spend a couple minutes of my class time complaining about my stress. If you I am mean to you this year... know that I have probably had like 4 hours of sleep, so don't take it personally!
So all of you 10th graders don't take super hard classes next year!! You will lose your sanity, trust me! And all of you 10th graders who are stressed out, trust me I understand! You are welcome to complain to me! I will always listen...!
Here are some pictures of what I may be feeling/looking like in the near future.

ANGER!!

I AM VERY ANGRY RIGHT NOW! I should be doing hw, but I couldn't concentrate with all of this anger! I decided to blog about my feelings instead.  Today I opened up the paper, ready to read about how the economy is failing and all of the other bad things happening in the world.  There was one thing that I was not ready to read about though.  American Girl has decided to RETIRE the Samantha doll.  Now I don't think you understand what a blow this is to me! The Samantha doll was the only doll I owned as a kid. I just wasn't a doll person.  But Samantha was different, I had a connection to Samantha.  I always thought she was made after me, I mean come on, same hair color, same eye color, same name!!! But even though I know now that she wasn't she has always been special to me! And then today I hear that American Girl is retiring her.  I just couldn't believe it.  I just don't know what this world is coming to...

LIGHT!!

So this is my light assignment! I loved loved this assignment. I feel like I got some really good shots. Last weekend I went down to southern Utah with the Outdoor Program. I took some awesome pictures while I was down there. It was nice to get somewhere new to shoot. I got to play around with some new subject matter. I love the slot canyons. I had so much fun taking pictures of the fire. I took about 30 of just fire. And it paid off because I got a good one. I took a lot of pictures for this assignment, I took over 120 pictures. It worked out really well for me because a lot of my better pictures were later in my shoot.
I am sure all of you guys wish you had gone on the Outdoor trip, don't worry you can go next time!!

Mary Ellen Mark

Mary Ellen Mark has some intersting pictures. She takes pictures of very different subject, set up in very different ways. One thing that really caught my eye was the pictures she took of celebrities. She took all sorts of pictures of famous people. The thing that really caught my eye was that she took the pictures in all different ways. They were all portriats, but they were done in all different ways.
These pictures are similar in some ways. They are all black and white. They are all at least from the head up. I really like that they are all very different from each other.
I really like the light in the picture of the guy sitting by the window. The light from the window has awesome contrast with the black cloth on the other side.

Stressing...!

So I discovered something today. I have about hit my limit in stress level. I feel like the more I do the more I have to do. I realized that taking pictures gave me a chance to relax. It was an awesome discovery. I have to take the time to go out and take photos. I am required to take a break from sitting stuffed up in my room. I have never enjoyed taking pictures as much as I did for this assignment. It was awesome...! So pretty much this means that photo is my best class because I don't have to sit in my room and hide from the sun!

Assignment 4- Get on your Belly!!!

This assinment was really cool. I took almost all of the pictures on my belly. It was cool that you get such a different point of view. These are pictures of objects that I see all the time but they look completely different in this assignment. I love the light in the fence picture. I think shadow just makes it really cool. I loved the hose as a subject. I think it looks very different from how I normally percieve hoses. I had a hard time taking the pictures for this assignment because i was to stuck in taking pictures the way I was used to. I felt really weird laying on my stomach taking pictures. It took me a while to get used to it, but it got easier the more I shot. As Mr. Slade always says... shoot shoot shoot!!

Final Project Idea

Ok so I was freaking out because I couldn't think of a cool creative idea for this project. But I think I finally came up with something.  As many of you know I moved to Utah a little over a year ago.  I love it here, but it was a big culture shock (seeing as I am not mormon).  So I decided that I wanted to photograph how big a part the religion is to this city.  I am thinking of taking pictures of things like a store on Saturday (when there are tons of people) and a store on Sunday (when it is closed for church).  I was also going show how there are so many churches (take a shot with like three really close together).  Also I wast thinking about how the roads are numbered depending on how close they are to the temple, so I would take a photograph of that also.  So this is my brilliant idea, if you don't like it well, don't steal it!! haha if anyone has some brilliant suggestions I would love them!!

Alfred Eisenstaedt

http://www.sandrophoto.com/conceptual/
So I love this guys pictures. He has a large selection of pictures. My favorites are the conceptual pictures. He has some really interesting ideas. I really like his black and white pictures. It is intersting how people use color to make certain points. I really like the city one with the road down the middle. I love how the buildings border the picture. I also think the light is great in the next picture. The person is completely black, which I think is really sweet. One of my other favorites is the person's feet. The light in the left really adds to the picture.
The great thing about all of these pictures is the light. He uses the light extremely well. I have never thought about how useful light can be. Light can be an amazing resource!

Jim Crotty

Jim Crotty enjoys taking picturs of nature. Almost all of his pictures are landscape photpgraphs.
I love the leaf picture for many resons. I love how the leaf has rain drops on it. This picture maks me think about Spring. I
love that the picture is pink with really red stems. It makes the whole picture stand out.
The colors in landscape of the house really work. The pink on the house really makes the run down house stand out. I also reallylike the colors of the tree. You can tell this picture was taken in the fall. I think the colors really make this picture great.
This picture is a very serene picture. I really like the color of the water. It is a very interesting green, the color changes over the water. The house almost blends in with the trees, color helps with that.

Other Photographs!!

These are some intersting landscapes that I found. I really like both of these pictures. I really like the clouds in the one of the plains. The clouds are the focus of this picture.
I really like the tree in the picture. It looks slightly sad and drooping. This picture really makes you think, it plays on my emotions. I think that is something that indicates a great picture. If your picture effects others emotions it means your photograph has a purpose.

Assignment 3

Mr. Slade likes this picture the best. I didn't put it up the first time because I didn't like that I couldn't see his face. But when I thought about it more I realized that this really showed my emotion, playfullness. He really just looks like he is having a good time.

Assignment 3- Emotions

I spent a lot of time thinking about how I wanted to shoot this assignment. I knew that I wanted to do a cheerful emotion, I just wasn't sure which one. I decided to do happiness. Now I know this sounds like a broad topic but what I really wanted was to show carefreeness. With taking picture of a little boy and a puppy I was hoping to show inocentness. I really enjoyed taking pictures for this assignment. I took a lot of pictures, because with the subjects I was using it is hard to get them to sit still. So I just took picture after picture, hoping I would get a couple that I liked. And I did! I really tried to work on getting closer in these pictures. I think I did a pretty good job, but I can still get closer.

Other Images

Shawn Harris
Shawn Harris is a very intersting photographer. He has a very unique way to photograph. He has some funny images and some thought provoking images. It is cool that he can manage both, I always think that you have to either be funny or thought provoking.

I really like this picture because the sky and water almost become one. The water reflects the sky, so they almost blend into one.

I really love this picture. The orange dresses blend together. They go from three or four different dresses to almost only one. I love how they almost trick the eye. It is a really cool idea for a picture.
This is a really cool picture because the sky and water blend together. The tree is the main focal point. It is always hard to tell where the actual tree stops and the reflcetion starts.
